Who We Are?
Drishti Foundation is a mirror of inspiration from thousands of those who believe in creating competitive human spirit amongst those considered to be disabled by the society, and those who have decided to put efforts to change the perception of the society towards disabled in general and blind in particular. Drishti Foundation is a team of trustees, eminent and socially responsible members of the society to its advisory board, and a huge team of volunteers. Drishti Foundation has received moral and financial support from people like Jain Guru, Shri. Devendra Sagarji Maharaj, Shri. Jayendra R. Shah (MD, Jayvee Organics), Shri. The Founding Trustee
Drishti Foundation reflects the determinations of one blind man, who has dared to walk a different path with the belief that colourful life can be seen, in fact, felt without eyesight. Priyesh Jain was born on 2nd November, 1972 into a middle-class Marwari family settled in Mumbai. At birth, his parents were deeply shocked to find out that their 2nd born was blind. However, they did not leave any stone unturned to educate him and mould him into a valuable member of the society. He went on to become a Gold medallist in BA Economics, and a Law Graduate. He is currently working as VP Finance and Account Receivables at Netcore Solutions. But before reaching this position he faced innumerable obstacles trying to prove himself at every step. From working in the film industry to selling Airtel cards, he tried his hands at various odd jobs. He also had a deep passion for film making which led him into writing and directing a short film called Roshni in the year 1997, which starred the great actors Anant Mahadevan and Reeta Bhaduri. National award-winning director Mahesh Chandra was the cinematographer of the film. Describing Priyesh Jain's efforts, Mahesh Chandra said, "Priyesh is very passionate about learning. It is touching to know a person who can't see has created something for the world to see." However, the film could not be promoted and did not reach the masses as no media channel was ready to take it on air in those days. His struggles with his aspirations and the obstacles due to blindness led him to build Drishti Foundation, which he believes can become the bridge between the aspirations of visually challenged people and its actualization. Drishti Foundation is about providing support to every visually challenged person who is willing to work hard and live a dignified life.
